Many years ago I got spasms in my stomach, duodenum and small intestine. They have never gone away. There is no medical treatment. I would like to locate people with a similar experience and work together to look for answers.

The purpose of this website is to see if there are other people who suffer the same or similar symptoms as myself and to connect with those people and look for strategies to improve our situation through:

  1. exchanging ideas and possible treatments
  2. building a database of information
  3. use our resources to seek a cure or improved treatment

Background: In 1983 after travelling to South America I returned to Australia with severe gut spasms, which over the last 28 years have resisted all my attempts to cure. I have consulted many medical doctors, specialists in several fields, complementary medicine practitioners and therapists and I have managed to moderate some of the symptoms, but the most severe and debilitating have remained.

Location: The symptom I experience almost all the time is a sharp spasm in my intestine about 1 cm (1/2 inch) to the right of my belly button. It is about 3 centremetres (1 inch) long and vertical. It is not on my skin or gut wall but deep inside my body. I can feel it to touch as a hard tube. I get it massaged by my osteopath once a month or so and with a lot of effort he can get it to relax but the spasm always returns within 12 hours to a day.
